Finished etching. Orkney Islands – The Ring of Brodgar. The natural aquatint of the top section of the plate has produced an interesting effect. This needs to be done on a bigger scale with bigger acid bath.
Plate inked up as a Duotone. Sky/area etched as aquatint is dark purple.
Almost impossible to see whether there are roller marks in the ink until you print the image.
Setup for first print, a few problems with stopping the image/plate from sliding about when going through the press. Solved by holding the paper clear of the plate till almost through the press.
Steel plate photo etching. (Test for a larger scale piece)
Screen-print with Rhinds varnish, Etched in acid/printed with Litho ink on dry paper.
Also printed as a Duotone print…..but extremely hard not to get roller marks left on the print and overlap of colour (black/deep purple)
